As an owner of two seven year old Labradors, taking them for walks had become like planning a military operation. I would have to try to map my route and timings so as to avoid the possibility of meeting other dogs.
I found walking the dogs far from being an enjoyable experience, in fact it was becoming something of a chore. It was exhausting trying to keep both of them from growling and barking at other dogs and their owners and having to continually apologise for my dogs behaviour.
About 10 days ago my wife and I took the decision to seek help to try and retrain them ( we had tried via a different trainer before, but his sessions had no effect on the dogs at all ).
I found Ingrid via the net and made contact. Straight away Ingrid put our minds at rest. She made us an appointment and we duly turned up at her field, located in the Teign Valley.
Her calm but assertive nature had an immediate impact on both dogs. We spent an hour talking through the issues that we were having and what her suggestions were to make things right. We started the training there and then, and then returned home to carry on exercising the dogs as Ingrid had told us to ( homework ).
All I can say is that the transformation has been meteoric. I swear that both dogs were totally transformed within hours.
Suddenly taking them out for walks was a pleasure. Whereas before we met Ingrid, it was always a fight and really hard work, now, within the blink of an eye, we both look forward to walking our dogs, it’s as it should be, a pleasurable experience.
We can’t thank Ingrid enough. Her advice and influence has been absolutely marvellous.
