This summer looks to be a busy one and I will be exhibiting at a few country shows.
Buckham Fair – Sunday 2 August 2026
Martin Clunes is closely associated with the Buckham Fair, a traditional country fair held each summer near Beaminster in Dorset. Clunes and his wife, producer Philippa Braithwaite, helped establish the event in 2008 on land near their farm with the aim of creating a classic English country show while raising money for local charities.
Buckham Fair combines many traditional rural attractions with a relaxed community atmosphere. The event typically includes horse and dog shows, livestock displays, vintage vehicles, local crafts, food stalls, music, and countryside demonstrations. Family entertainment is a major focus, with activities designed to celebrate rural Dorset life and farming heritage.
Chagford Show -Thursday 20th of August 2026The Chagford Agricultural and Horticultural Show, a traditional country fair now entering its 124th year, will take place on Thursday 20 August 2026. Set on the beautiful banks of the River Teign at Mill End, Chagford (TQ13 8JN), the show is held courtesy of the National Trust, the Malseed family, Mr P. Morrish, Mr H. de Ferranti and Miss B. Hayter-Hames.
The Christow Show – Saturday 15th August 2026
The Christow Show is a long-running village agricultural and horticultural show held each summer in the picturesque Teign Valley on the eastern edge of Dartmoor in Christow. Organised by the Christow Horticultural and Agricultural Society, the event celebrates rural Devon life, local farming traditions, and community spirit. In 2025, the show marks its centenary, having first been held in 1925.
