Some months ago a friend mentioned that she’d been to Cumbria to see Dog Behaviourist Janet Ardley. She was full of praise and told me how much better her dogs’ behaviour had improved.
I never thought I’d need any help, but when Dougal, my 2yr old Cocker Spaniel started to become aggressive to my husband, I changed my mine. The final straw came when he bit Mike on the arm!
Janet spent half a day with us and her recommendations have been put into place. I can now report that we have a wonderful dog who is part of the family – but not head of it !

Having tried – and failed – with two trainers living nearer to my home, I “googled” the word “sheepchasing” and found Ingrid and Janet.
And what a relief.
These two really ladies know their stuff. My Cocker Spaniel, Archie, is a reformed character! From a stock chasing nightmare, I now have a dog that listens to me. Archie is a real pleasure to take on walks. He heels, sits and stays – fantastic!
Thanks so much

I had the very good fortune to meet Ingrid last month. Both she and her business partner Janet are to my mind exceptional people in their fields (no pun intended). I've been unable to cure my dog Alfie of his "nervous aggression" although he was brilliant in all other ways it remained a problem, I spent just one day with these ladies, and Alfie is now 99% there, 6 years I've struggled with this problem.
Ingrid & Janet are indeed specialists in all aspects of dog training including psychology, and are trained behaviorists.
I believe everybody should have the chance to benefit as I have from the knowledge imparted by training the Ingrid Grayling way.
Happy dogs mean happy owners!

Dear Ingrid & Janet,
I must write to let you know how well behaved Molly is since my session with Janet.
Nowadays I can walk through a field of sheep with no chasing! I've just walked along the prom to Morecambe Kite Festival and met dozens of dogs - without Molly barking! We were able to walk past hundreds of people without any problem whatsoever.
I am really enjoying Molly again and am at last relaxed with her. You have obviously taught me as well as Molly! Thank you very much.

Dear Ingrid & Janet,
I wanted to let you both know how Dottie is doing since finishing your training programme.
The time with the livestock collar was very effective indeed. From day one she gave the sheep a very wide berth and wouldn't entertain the idea of going near them on our walks. We can now walk right through farmyards full of sheep and cattle OFF LEAD ! Naturally everything is done in a very controlled manner. Dottie sits and waits for us to go first at every stile and sits when another dog approaches.
Many thanks to both of you for helping us to accomplish this very enjoyable level of discipline. We look forward to seeing you both very soon when Dottie comes to stay.

Thank goodness for Ingrid and Janet!
Finally I've found some kennels where I can leave Jasper, confident in the knowledge that he'll be well looked after and have plenty of exercise. Having previously used three local kennels with mixed results, a friend recommended driving to Cumbria and leaving him at Ingrid's. Initially I was unsure if the journey from Cheltenham was going to be worth it, given the distance. I'm pleased I did, because the enthusiasm these two ladies show for the dogs is just what any owner would want to see. After a week's stay, I collect Jasper and he always looks in great condition and so happy. Thanks to both of you!

I would like to thank Janet and Ingrid for changing my life around.
I have a 2 year old Jack Russell who had many behaviour problems, the latest being sheep chasing. When looking through the Lancashire Life magazine, I noticed Ingrid's advertisement. After only one lesson with Janet, my dog now respects sheep and all other animals!
Now I have alot more control than ever before. The approach that Janet used is much different to all other behaviourists I'd seen before.
I can now take my dog for walks without any trouble. I am working hard at being "pack leader" and it's getting better everyday.
I am delighted at how things have changed and can't thank Janet - and Ingrid - enough.

We recently spent two days with Ingrid in Cumbria with our 2 year old very boisterous Boxer dog Lola.
Life with Lola had become very difficult here in Mid Wales where we are surrounded by sheep which she never missed an opportunity to chase. Even letting her have the run of the garden meant that she was constantly at the fence barking at them!
We are so delighted that after just one session with Ingrid, Lola now has a very healthy respect for sheep and indeed other livestock. We are also working very hard on other issues of obedience, recall and walking to heel in particular under Ingrid's guidance, and using a completely different approach than other trainers we have consulted - again with excellant results. Where we despaired of having a dog whose life was restricted by bad behaviour we now feel confident that we can overcome many of the problems.
Also the dog boarding facilities that Ingrid provides are second to none, and although we hardly live on the doorstep Lola will be returning for a holiday in May whilst we go off on ours!! - happy in the knowledge that she will be so well looked after.
