BOARDING FOR DOGS

I offer the kind of accommodation and care that I would want for my own dogs. With only four kennels we are able to give full care and attention at all times to our guests. We provide a structured routine which allows our dogs to be calm, relaxed, secure and therefore happy. Because of the routine and the long walks our guests do not have to tolerate soiled kennels, at the end of the day after hours of physical off lead exercise they can retire happily to bed.

3 DAY ASSESSMENT

Prior to boarding for the first time – while you are in easy reach – I insist that your dog stays for a three day assessment.
This is an important time for your dog and us. During this period your dog will be introduced to the staff, the routine, other guest dogs and our varied walks. Of equal importance, it enables us to bond with your dog; we all have to get to know each other.
I reserve the right within this three day period to send your dog home if this visit is proving unsuccessful

GOOD HEALTH

All guests must be fully vaccinated including the Intrac (Kennel Cough) vaccine. This should be given three weeks before arrival. Vaccination certificates must be produced on arrival.
Please ensure that your dog has been wormed recently, any medication they are taking brought with them with full written instructions so that we may continue the treatment.

In an emergency our vets (who are in Appleby) will come out to attend to your dog and they will liaise with your veterinary surgeon.

FEEDING AND DIET

We do not provide the food. When your dog comes to stay it is most important that they continue with their usual diet as this is what they are used to. Please ensure that you bring extra quantities as your dog will be having a very active holiday and will probably need extra, written instructions are always useful.
